Monica & Friends are not just that group of kids you're familiar with. Every period in history has had its Monicas and its Jimmy Fives - delightful, sometimes mischievous children who are a joy to their parents and a torment to those who don't understand them.
So we at Mauricio de Sousa Studios believe that we can situate Monica & Friends in any historical period any place in the world. Our "heroes" will use their cleverness, the characteristics of their individual personalities and their charm to solve any problem.
First we looked to Ancient Greece, over two thousand years in the past, for the legends that make Greek mythology the richest of all. And we had our characters live out some of those legends, more specifically the one known as The Twelve Labors of Hercules. Monica, of course, has the lead part.
This edition is the result of our wish to tell our readers these ancient stories in a new way. Hopefully it will also serve to arouse interest in the mythology of Greece and other countries and lead you, the reader, to discover the treasures left to us over the ages in prose, books, papyrus scrolls and stone inscriptions. These stories reflect man's incessant search for life and happiness down through the centuries. And also -- why not? -- the fun of enjoying the delightful adventures of Monica & Friends. At any time.
