We were looking for a place for Monica’s Park in Sao Paulo. We contacted the city (Erundina was mayor) and listened to the enthusiasm regarding a project to build one in the Anhembi area.

We began to make the drawings and the political contacts. The state assembly would have to approve the idea, which was analyzed and passed in the first round of discussion. But in the second round, the park was vetoed and the sambodrome approved instead. Later, a gas station appeared in the area we had planned for the park.

It was a good idea that proposed a lovely, safe place for children year round, not merely during vacation time and other events at Anhembi.

It did not work out, but it made us more and better prepared to build the first Monica’s Park in the Eldorado Shopping Mall.
