CHLOE

During President Reagan’s term of office in the United States, First Lady Nancy Reagan commandeered a massive campaign against drugs. It was "Just Say ‘NO’ to Drugs."

Artists, politicians, public idols all collaborated in the drive.

A young lady, daughter of the Swedish ambassador in Washington, in contact with the presidency, "lent" her little dog Chloe to be the symbol of the campaign. And Chloe began to appear in shows, be cuddled by top movie stars and become known.

When they were thinking of expanding the fight against drugs even more, using films, cartoons and animation, Mauricio was called in to collaborate. The contact was made by a company from Monte Carlo -- Telemundi -- which had a good relationship with the organizers of the "Just say NO!" campaign in the United States.

A Chloe character was created, modeled after Chloe herself. As well as a whole gallery of other toons to provide backup for the adventures of Chloe and her owner (a courageous little blond girl) against the trafficking villains. There would be, in the core of the adventures, many recommendations about how to combat drugs and information about the harm they cause.

Then all of a sudden, the contacts fizzled out. It all came to a halt. And worst of all, the real Chloe ended up under the wheels of a truck.

The campaign lost its "star" and the drawings remained on the shelf. Until this exposition.
